The Hotel Valide Sultan Konagi, or Mansion of the Queen Mother, is located appropriately just outside the walls of Topkapi Palace in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. Grand (for its size), with a true Ottoman feeling to it: the hotel offers gilded furniture, rich curtains and mouldings, many mirrors, and Queen Motherly touches of decor in many of the rooms. The Valide Sultan's location is excellent. At the quiet northern end of Kutllugun Sok, right across the street from the Four Season Hotel. Ayasofya (St.Sophia) and the gate to Topkapi Palace are both a 2-minute walk away.
